The Organization

Thrive-WiSE (Women in Science and Engineering) focuses on retaining the accomplished, driven and stellar women in Engineering and Science in the tech industry through technical and behavioral programs. We seek to drive a seismic shift in the workplace cultures to help women achieve success in their careers.

Since 2009, has led the way to address the dropout rate of senior women engineers and technologists. In 2019, we expanded our programs to include technical Product, Program, and Project Managers. In 2020, we expanded to offer our Safe Space Program (vetted for five years) and our unique Ally Training for Engineers and PxMs to corporations to address systemic issues in the workplace and make results-driven progress on our mission.

 

The Position

Thrive-WiSE seeks an SEO Specialist to drive our rapidly growing portfolio of programs that address systemic issues in the workplace. This position reports to the Executive Director.

This position is Remote-only. Most communications will be within Mountain and Pacific Time Zones. 5-10 hours/week.

 

Responsibilities for SEO Specialist

  • Develop optimization strategies that increase the company’s search engine results rankings/SEO campaigns
  • Research SEO keywords and data mining tools to use throughout the company’s website and marketing materials
  • Set measurable goals that demonstrate improvement in marketing efforts
  • Monitor daily performance metrics to understand SEO strategy performance
  • Efficiently communicate with other marketing professionals to align goals
  • Collaborate with others within the marketing department to manage SEO strategy
  • Write compelling and high-quality website content, including blog posts and page descriptions
  • Update content and website links for maximum optimization and search engine rankings
  • Be able to use SEO industry programs such as Google Analytics or Adobe Analytics
  • Use keywords research and data mining tools
  • Familiarize working with WordPress and other content management systems

 

Skills and Experience:

  • Strong project management skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • Ability to work with the community, volunteers, Board of Directors, and all levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge of standard tools: word processors, spreadsheets, presentation programs, online meeting and communication tools.
  • Self-directed, independent, results-driven worker who can drive multiple programs through to completion.
  • Commitment to the Thrive-WiSE mission.
  • Experience in marketing and PR management is a plus.
  • Experience with managing volunteers is a plus.
