PHASE ONE
Meet Aliya. Aliya is a stellar student and is super interested in math, engineering and science. She is passionate, has high hopes and wants to make it BIG in the hot technology industry. But, first, she wants to graduate from a top university!
And she just graduated with a technical degree from a top university with a fantastic GPA. She has her pick of offers from several companies and is super excited to start her career as a software engineer. She can’t wait to build the next product to bring solutions to her biggest passion – climate change.
PHASE TWO
PHASE THREE
Aliya has found a life partner and is juggling home, work, money, priorities, bosses, in-laws, spouse, kids, colleagues/peers while trying to keep up in her field where new technologies and tools emerge every 6 months or so.
This goes on for years. And gets worse….
Aliya puts in longer hours, sacrifices her personal needs and her time to take care of herself mentally, emotionally and physically in an effort to keep going at all costs.
Because there is no help for her, there is no support for her that gives her an option to realistically help in a sustainable way over the long term.
PHASE FOUR
START OVER
And, Aliya finally hits the wall – It’s all too much.
She is depressed, anxious, isolated, feels like a failure in her personal life, home life, work life and every other aspect of her life.
She makes the choice to REBOOT before she cannot take it anymore.

Thrive-WiSE / CodeChix is a 501c3 organization dedicated to the Education, Advocacy and Mentoring of women engineers in industry and academia. We aim to increase the number of women technologists in industry through our technical and workplace environment programs and by building a community of technical women supporting each other with professional development.
